This collaborative group project focused on bridging the knowledge gap on the care and management of digital-born materials, specifically net art. My team created this Request for Proposal (RFP) for the fictitious NET.tropolitan Museum of Art in order to systematize the organization, preservation, and accessibility of their net art collection.

The plan includes a unified numbering system and cataloging system, a metadata application profile (MAP) tailored to born-digital creative materials, a workflow concept map, and staffing considerations. My role was primarily focused on the metadata and cataloging aspects to the project.

Our guiding goal was to ensure long term accessibility and integrity of the digital collection, in support of global, community-based expression. Born-digital materials are now becoming integrated into our institutions, and that is going to be a permanent change. It is important as GLAM professionals to learn to adapt to this new ever-changing medium.
